Abstract:
Intercropping experiments of different crop varieties were set up in northern Jiangxi Province from 2022 to 2023, and corresponding crop monoculture was used as the control. By measuring crop yield under single and intercropping conditions, productivity of each intercropping system, land equivalent ratio, yield increase rate of intercropping, competitiveness of soybean relative to corn, and crop agronomic traits were analyzed, the effects of variety differences on grain yield, intercropping system productivity and interspecific resource competition were clarified, and the crop varieties suitable for maize-soybean intercropping in this region were screened out. The results showed that corn grain yield was significantly positively correlated with corn ear size, kernel number per ear and 100-grain weigh, and soybean grain yield was significantly positively correlated with effective pod per plant, kernel number per plant and grain weight per plant. The corn variety Tongyu 609 showed higher grain yield and did not significantly reduce soybean grain yield under intercropping conditions. The soybean variety Shengdou 3 showed higher land equivalent ratio, crop yield increase rate and intercropping effect under intercropping system. Therefore, the suitable maize and soybean varieties for intercropping in northern Jiangxi are Tongyu 609 and Shengdou 3 respectively.
