Abstract:
The cigar filler variety Yunxue 39 was planted in Hemu Village, Mangbang Village and Mangdan Village of Lujiang Town, Baoshan City, respectively. The paper studied the effects of topping the present buds, capping the opening of the center flower at 10% and capping the opening of the center flower at 50%, as well as the effects of retaining 14, 16 and 18 leaves on the yield and quality of cigar tobacco leaves. The results showed that there were highly significant differences in agronomic, chemical and economic traits among the three different locations, with the Hemu site having better tobacco quality. By comparing different topping periods, it was found that with the delay of topping time, the plant height, maximum leaf length and width increased. The effect of the number of leaves retained on agronomic traits was not obvious. There were significant differences in the chemical composition of tobacco leaves planted at different altitudes, and the effect of different topping periods and the number of leaves retained on the chemical composition of cigar tobacco was significantly different, showing that in the centre flower opening 10% topping, and the number of leaves retained for the 16 leaves, the chemical composition of the leaves was more harmonized. Different topping periods had a significant effect on economic traits, showing that when 16 leaves are left, the economic traits are the best. In summary, the better yield and quality of cigar filler of Yunxue 39 were achieved when the number of leaves was 16, and the centre flower was 10% open and topped at the right time.
