Abstract:
Using the Yunxue 39 variety as the material, we set up four treatments including reducing the total fertilizer amount by 21% and supplementing with boron and zinc micronutrients (T
1), conventional fertilization supplemented with boron and zinc micronutrients (T
2), increasing the total fertilizer amount by 21% and supplementing with boron and zinc micronutrients (T
3), and conventional fertilization (CK). The effects of different fertilizer amounts and the supplementation of boron and zinc micronutrients on the growth, yield and quality of cigar tobacco were studied. The results showed that under the varying fertilization levels, the T
3 treatment outperformed the T
2 treatment in terms of plant botanical traits, agronomic characteristics, pest and disease resistance, chemical composition, yield, and the ratio of high-quality leaves. Compared to the CK treatment, the T
2 treatment enhanced the chemical composition, phenolic compounds, and volatile organic acids of Yunxue 39. Specifically, the potassium, chlorogenic acid, valeric acid and hexanoic acid contents increased by 0.56 percentage point, 33.33%, 6.83% and 9.30%, respectively. In conclusion, the T
3 treatment had significant benefits for the production of cigar tobacco raw materials in the Jinsha River Basin of Suijiang County, Zhaotong City.
