Abstract:
According to different resource endowments, the villages in Zhejiang Province are mainly classified into five types: villages with landscape and cultural characteristics, villages with agricultural industrial resource characteristics, villages with geographical location resource characteristics, villages with mechanism and platform resource characteristics, and villages with scarce resource endowments. Typical cases and common prosperity models have emerged, such as Xiashan Village that promotes co-construction and sharing by utilizing the composite cultural and natural resources, Datang Village that promotes industrial common prosperity based on natural climate and crop resources, Shanqian Village that improves the village operation model based on geographical location advantages, and Huayuan Village that achieves the integration of village and city based on a strong industrial foundation. The results show that the villages in Zhejiang Province and other regions across the country still need to address challenges such as tight constraints on resource elements, a single rural industrial structure, the separation of rural planning and operation, the incompatibility between economic development and resource and environmental protection, and the separation of village prosperity and villagers’ well-being. They should promote prosperous villages and well-off villagers through the following paths: undertaking urban market demands, building new bonds for urban-rural integration, planning and designing the operation of the entire village, creating new landmarks for rural tourism, filling in the shortcomings and strengthening advantages, cultivating a new pattern of the entire industrial chain, exploring and optimizing models and mechanisms, strengthening new carriers for village and community development, continuing traditional rural functions, and stimulating new vitality of agricultural civilization.
