Abstract: Agricultural colleges and universities are the important parts of China’s higher education, and the talents they train are the crucial support for the comprehensive revitalization of villages and the modernization of agriculture and rural areas.The ideological and political education is the main channel of “how to cultivate people”. As an essential part of the ideological and political education, Ideological and political education in foreign language courses is closely related to the state of the ecological construction of ideological and political in foreign language courses in agricultural colleges and universities. At present, there are still shortcomings and deficiencies in the “top”, “cornerstone”, “backbone”, “soil” and “evaluation criteria” of ideological and political education in foreign language courses in agricultural colleges and universities. It is necessary to strengthen the ecological top-level design, improve the syllabus, consolidate the ecological foundation, reform the curriculum design, strengthen the ecological core force, improve the teachers’ ideological and political ability, plant the ecological soil conditions, create a favorable teaching environment, improve the criteria for measuring students, and optimize the evaluation system.
