Abstract:
Cassava is an important cash crop mainly planted in tropical and subtropical areas. Low temperature is an important factor limiting the growth and development of cassava, and limiting the cultivation range. It is important to study the low-temperature resistance of cassava to promote the sustainable development of cassava industry and cultivating cold resistant germplasm. In this paper, the morphological structure, physiological and biochemical mechanisms and molecular mechanisms related to the evaluation of cassava’s cold tolerance were reviewed, and the progress in the breeding of cold-tolerant varieties was introduced. The future research direction of cassava’s cold tolerance and cold-tolerant breeding was discussed.
