Abstract:
Based on the global super efficiency SBM-DEA model, combined with the Dagum Gini coefficient and
σ and
β convergence analysis methods, this study measures the dynamic evolution of agricultural water use efficiency in Hubei Province from 2008 to 2021, and further explores its regional disparities and convergence characteristics. The results show that the agricultural water use efficiency in Hubei and its eastern, central and western regions is on an upward trend from 2008 to 2021, and the efficiency gap between regions is gradually expanding as a whole, with inter-regional differences being the main source of the overall gap. There is no
σ convergence of agricultural water use efficiency in each region, and there are typical
β convergence characteristics. After adding 5 external factors, the speed of
β convergence is significantly improved, and the impact effect is heterogeneous in different regions. Finally, based on the research conclusions, the paper puts forward targeted strategies to promote the improvement of agricultural water use efficiency, in order to provide scientific basis and practical suggestions for the sustainable development of water-saving agriculture.
