Abstract: The thornless safflower from Yumin County, Xinjiang was used as the research object, and the climatic quality certification model and evaluation system for thornless safflower were constructed. The GIS spatial analysis tools werr used to comprehensively analyze the climatic suitability of the planting area, meteorological elements during growth period, and the status of production management, and evaluate climatic quality of Yumin thornless safflower. The results show that exceptional climatic conditions for the original thornless safflower cultivated in the certified enterprise’s area in 2021. This certification is expected to increase the value of thornless safflower and its related products, resulting in significant economic benefits without incurring additional production costs. This study is the first in China to certify the climatic quality of safflower. It is of great significance to the safflower industry in Xinjiang and will provide valuable experience and a reference framework for other regions seeking to implement climatic quality certification for similar agricultural products.
